Another cold day at Moorhouse saw a mixture of experienced and less so riders tackle Dave’s challenging PTV on Sunday. One of my favourite obstacles, the side pass, made a comeback and received favourable comments about being a good skill for horse and rider. All types of horses were on show and some of the largest showed how it’s possible to do any obstacle with some training. Well done to all riders.
With his trusty writer Jackie Bennett, they stayed nearly to time and the last rider was done before 5.00pm. Liz and Mick Payne, with their neighbour Claire, helped Dave and I assemble the course Saturday evening and then scored, timed and sorted low branches all day. Judith Fisher had the morning slot helping before going for her horse to do the final classes. Thanks also to Ian Macalindin for helping to pack away. Without these people’s help it would be impossible to run these events.
Here’s a great video showing a variety of novice and experienced combinations tackling the courses at this event – thanks Vicki Marshall!
We’ll run another Moorhouse Arena TREC on 27 January, the schedule will be emailed to members once it is available.
