New event! 5 May POR training

Supported introduction to TREC

On Sunday 5 th May at Stapleton Park Estate Dave and Sheila Rogerson and Vicky Waller invite you to bring your horse, lunch, a compass and some fine pens for some practical training into the world of TREC. You don’t need fancy tack or clothing but thin gel pens, high viz, a bumbag (or jacket with good pockets) and a compass if possible.

The training is available for one of the 3 stages of TREC. It is aimed at the new to TREC riders, those who have done arena TREC and possibly those who have done one or two level 1 competitions.
The day will start with a small group looking at the map of the area and copying a short route. Speeds will be discussed and a basic use of the compass. The riders will then tack up and ride the route in either pairs or a small group with an experienced Treccie ensuring you stay on the right route. The riding will all be within the estate on farm tracks and boundary edges. Once back at the venue there should be time for a short debrief on the ride and challenges. The cost is £25.00 for WHTG members and £30.00 for non-members. Please fill in a booking form and send to sheilarogerson@hotmail.com
