This diary contains details of events & training run by White Horse TREC Group.
The TREC GB calendar lists all affiliated TREC events in the UK.
We would be unable to run any events without the valuable support and help of our wonderful volunteers. To offer your help (or a willing friend or relative!) please contact the named organiser direct. We understand that you would like to compete as often as you can, and it’s often possible to fit in judging around your own riding time, as well as other ways to help such as setting up the PTV course or taking the entries beforehand.
TREC GB requires that vaccinations are up to date (12 month cycle) and we will check passports before horses are unloaded. Horses that have had their annual vaccination or a booster, within the last six days will not be allowed to attend.
Please note all dates are provisional for now and dependent on whether restrictions on outdoor sporting events are lifted as planned on 29th March
Supported Introduction to TREC, Moorhouse Equestrian Centre, Gap Farm, Moorhouse Ln, Moorhouse, Doncaster DN6 7HA – 10th July
Dave and Sheila Rogerson invite you to bring your horse, lunch, a compass and some fine pens for some practical training into the world of TREC. You don’t need fancy tack or clothing but thin gel pens, high viz, a bumbag (or jacket with good pockets) and a compass if possible.
The training is available for the 3 stages of TREC. It is aimed at the new to TREC riders, those who have done arena TREC and possibly those who have done one or two level 1 competitions.
The day will start with a small group looking at the map of the area and copying a short route. Speeds will be discussed and a basic use of the compass. The riders will then tack up and ride the route (in pairs, unless keen to go as individuals) looking out for markers which helps them know they are on the right route. Once back at the venue and after a short break they will go into the arena for an hour’s practice at the control of paces and obstacles often encountered at summer competitions. The cost is £25.00 for WHTG members and £30.00 for non-members. Please fill in a booking form and send to firstname.lastname@example.org
